Coffee & Books!

This past weekend, I had the joy of hosting a small book signing at Pot Heads in Jenkintown, and it turned out to be exactly what I needed before the larger launch events ahead.

There is something uniquely comforting about a coffee shop gathering. The hiss of espresso machines, people curled into chairs with mugs warming their hands, conversations drifting between tables like soft jazz in the background. It felt less like a formal event and more like sitting inside a living room built out of caffeine and community.

I sold 8 books during the signing, which may sound like a small number to some people, but honestly, each sale felt personal. Every person who stopped by took time to ask questions, listen to pieces of the story, and share parts of their own lives in return. That’s the beautiful thing about memoirs. They rarely stay one person’s story for long.

The event also gave me a chance to practice speaking about the book out loud, which is a very different thing than writing it alone in silence at midnight with coffee gone cold beside the keyboard. A book launch can feel a little like standing at the edge of a dock before jumping into deep water. This signing felt like wading in first, getting used to the temperature, learning how to breathe.

More than anything, I left grateful.

Grateful for the encouragement.
Grateful for the conversations.
Grateful for the people willing to support an independent author with their time, attention, and curiosity.

And yes… grateful for coffee. Vast, holy oceans of coffee. ☕🌌

This was a wonderful warm-up for the upcoming official book launch, and it made me even more excited for what’s ahead.

To everyone who stopped by Pot Heads, thank you for helping turn an ordinary coffee shop afternoon into something memorable.
